Bethan Morgan, who studied at Pratt this fall semester, is our first exchange student from Kingston University London. She is an Art, Design, and Film major in her junior year at Kingston. She found her experience at Pratt “amazing” and “brilliant” and will be recommending it to other students at Kingston when she returns in the spring. She said that she worked harder here at Pratt than she does in the UK as the courses are more structured and she thought that this promoted better time-management on the part of students. She also thought she learned more technical information. And she received more guidance because of the small size of our classes. She particularly liked the field trips. She took four courses in our department—Art Since the 60s was one of her favorites. She loved being in Brooklyn and its closeness to all the galleries and museums in the city. Bethan thinks that Pratt students would benefit from an exchange at Kingston for similar reasons—it is a short 20 minute train ride from London’s Waterloo station and it has a beautiful campus next to the Thames River.
