The deadline for submissions to The Robert C. Vose, Jr. and Ann Peterson Vose Scholarship in American Art History is fast approaching!  This $4,000 scholarship will be awarded to one undergraduate or graduate art history student with an interest in American Art. Materials are due by February 10th, and the award will be presented at the 21th Annual Student Show award reception at the Copley Society of Art in Boston on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 5:30pm.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student (undergraduate or graduate level) must be a full-time student majoring in American Art History at a regional college or university. The required materials are as follows:

1.    A brief letter from the Head of your Art History Department or the nominee’s Art History faculty advisor indicating the student you wish to nominate, including a one-page statement explaining why he/she was selected. We expect that academic achievements as well as personal characteristics will be paramount in your selection, but please give some weight to need and motivation; we are interested in evidence that the student has worked, sacrificed, or otherwise demonstrated extra effort to achieve his/her academic status.

2.    A transcript of the nominee’s academic courses and grades to date.

3.    A letter from the nominee of no more than two pages describing his/her interest in American Art and what he/she hopes to achieve during this academic year.

The completed application should arrive on or before February 10th at the following address:

Alicia LaTores
Copley Society of Art
