On a recent class visit to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Professor Lisa Banner and her Creating Exhibitions students had the opportunity to talk with the artist Tom Otterness. A New York based American public sculpture artist, Tom Otterness has a number of works on view around the city such as his Life Underground series that can be found throughout the 14th Street station. During their visit to the cathedral, the students along with Professor Banner spoke with Mr. Otterness about his latest instillation, The Value of Food, on view until April 3rd. As mentioned on the cathedral’s website, the instillation is part of an exhibition focusing on food security, accessibility, and sustainability.

On a previous excursion, the Creating Exhibitions students along with Professor Banner paid a visit to the Scandinavia House. Scandinavia House is The Nordic Center in America and headquarters to the American-Scandinavian Foundation.
