Faculty member Tashima Thomas is currently working on different publications and has some some exciting news:
- The book project, Edible Extravagance: The Art of Consumption in the Black Atlantic, is officially under contract with SUNY Press as of Jan 2019.
- An article was published: “Sugar Babies: Confections of American Childhood in Vik Muniz’s Sugar Children and Kara Walker’s Marvelous Sugar Baby.” American Studies Journal, Vol. 57, No. 3, January 2019.
- A forthcoming article is soon to be published: “Literary and Visual Rememory at the 90th Anniversary of the Banana Massacre in Colombia.” Co-authored with Annie Mendoza, Ph.D. Zapruder World: An International Journal for the History of Social Conflict 5, special issue “Food Fights: A Global Perspective,” March 2019.
