Exciting News: Burroughs-Wright Fellowship Award

HAD senior Mekhi DeLeon, a History of Art and Design major and Museum & Gallery Practices minor, has been awarded the 2026 Margaret T. G. Burroughs and Charles H. Wright Fellowship by the Association of African American Museums (AAAM).

The fellowship honors the founders of the Association of African American Museums and annually recognizes two emerging museum professionals who demonstrate excellence and dedication to the interpretation and preservation of African American and African diaspora history, art, and culture.

As a fellowship recipient, Mekhi will be recognized as part of the AAAM conference and its Keynote Luncheon and Award Ceremony. The fellowship also includes conference registration, travel and hotel accommodations, and a two-year AAAM membership.
