Pace University Press will present Comics and Culture: Those Who Can, Teach, a panel and discussion on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. The panel will offer a stimulating conversation about the comics industry, its influence on literature and popular culture, and how this applies to academic studies. The theme will highlight the intersection of comics and education, the language of comics, and the use of comics in the classroom. The discussion is an extension our journal, Comics and Culture.
The panel will feature guest contributors and speakers, including cartoonist Mark Newgarden (Cartoon Network), editor Joan Hilty (Nickelodeon, DC Comics), comics artist Klaus Janson (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns), and writer and illustrator Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman, X-Men). Paul Levitz, former president and publisher of DC Comics, will moderate the discussion.
