For four decades, Pratt in Venice has offered students an immersive opportunity to study art, architecture, history, and culture firsthand in Venice. The summer program, directed by History of Art and Design Professor Diana Gisolfi, brings together undergraduate and graduate students for an interdisciplinary experience that combines art practice, art history, research, and direct engagement with the city’s cultural heritage.
This year marks the program’s 40th year on site. The 2026 program included visits to museums, churches, historic sites, conservation and mosaic demonstrations, excursions throughout the Veneto, and engagement with the 61st Venice Biennale. The article also highlights scholarship support for participating students, including the new Dimitri Hazzikostas Endowed Scholarship for Art History, which will officially launch in 2027.
