Professor Joyce Polistena was invited to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, as one of only twenty scholars for a Delacroix Study Day. Led by Keith Christiansen, the museum’s Curator of European Art, and Asher E. Miller, the curator of the Delacroix exhibition, the aim was to generate stimulating discussions about the Romantic artist Eugène Delacroix. The international group of print and painting scholars, art connoisseurs and authors canvassed the galleries for an exciting exchange of ideas and assessment of Delacroix’s oeuvre. The Delacroix exhibition at the Met Museum follows the retrospective at the Louvre Museum organized by Sébastien Allard and Côme Fabre (Mar.–July, 2018). The day included private survey of the exhibition Devotion to Drawing: The Karen B. Cohen Collection of Eugène Delacroix (Jul.-Nov., 2018) led by curator Ashley Dunn.
